Measures of central tendency

Mean: Is the average of the numbers.

How to calculate the Mean:
Add the numbers then divide it by the quantity of numbers.

Example:
The mean of 5 , 3
5 + 3= 8
8 ÷ 2 = 4

Median: The middle number of a list of numbers.

How to calculate the median:
Arrange the numbers in order from least to highest and the middle number is the median.

Example:
The median of 4, 5, 8 , 9, 3
3, 4, 5, 8, 9.
The median is 5.

If the quantity of numbers is even, order them from least to highest, take the two middle numbers, add them and then divide it by 2.

Example:
1,4,2,6
1,2,4,6
2+4=6/2
The median is 3.

Mode: is the value that occurs most often.

How to calculate the mode
The mode is the number that is most repeated

Example:
1, 2, 6, 7, 6
6 is the mode.

If there are no repeats there is no mode.

Range:  is just the difference between the largest and smallest values.

How to calculate the range:
Substract the lowest value from the highest value.

Example:
3, 9, 8, 7, 6
9 – 3 = 6

6 is the range.

What is Geogebra?
Geogebra is a software that you can download on your computer , it’s a mathematics software for students that includes geometry, algebra and calculus.

For what it can be used?
Its allows the students to create geometric figures using points, vertices and etc..

How to create a polygon on Geogebra?

You can use the regular polygon tool: Select two points A and B and specify the number of vertices in the imput field of the appering dialog window. This gives you a regular polygon with the number of vertices including points A and B.

Divisibility Rules

{2,3,4,5,6,9}

  • A number is divisible by 2 if the last digit is even. Example: 24
  • A number is divisible by 3 if the sum of the digits is divisible by 3. Example: 759
  • A number is divisible by 4 if the last two digits form a number divisible by 4. Example: 116
  • A number is divisible by 5 if the last digits is 0 or 5. Example: 25
  • A number is divisible by 6 if the number is divisible by both 2 and 3. Example: 12
  • A number is divisible by 9 if the sum of the digits is divisible by 9. Example: 927

Types of Angles

  • Acute Angle: Measures less than 90 degrees.

  • Right Angle: Measures exactly 90 degrees.

  • Obtuse Angle: Measures more than 90 degrees but less than 180 degrees.

  • Straight Angle: Measures exactly 180 degrees.

  • Reflex Angle: Has a measure greater than 180 degrees.

  • Full Rotation: Measures exactly 360 degrees.

  • Zero Angle: Measures 0 degrees.

Basic Concepts of Geometry

Ponit

A point is shown using a dot, which is labelled with a capital letter.

• A

Lines

A straight line is a set of points next to each other.

 Plane

A plane is a flat surface extending in all directions to infinity

Segment

A line segment is a part of a line. A segment is a part of a line between two points.

Polygons

A polygon is a plane figure with straight lines.

Collinear

collinear is three or more points on the same line.

Ray

A ray is a line with one fixed end, infinite in the other direction.

Angles

An angle measures the amount of turn.

The national debt is a problem of which we are all subjected to. At birth it is said that we already owe money. Your task is to find a way to calculate how much does a child born in 2013 owes at the time of birth.
To calcukate this we have to look which is the national debt and the number of habitants
National debt is: 21,989
Habitants: 10 millions

So as we wanna know how much 1 person owes at birth we have to divide it
21,989 divided by 10,000,000 is 9198.9

So a child owes 9,198.9.
